Free Food During Summer For Children in Los Angeles

LAUSD Free Breakfast
Children enrolled in the LA Unified School District (LAUSD) get free breakfast and for those who qualify, even free lunch when they go to school.

But during the summer time, when most of the children will be out of school, many of these kids are going to go hungry.

To the rescue is the Los Angeles County and the City of Los Angeles who both have free summer food programs for kids 1 to 18 years old.

Free Lunch and Snack

The LA County Department of Parks and Recreation has their free lunch and free snack program available at selected LA county parks and other non-agency sites.

Lunch will be served from 11 am to 1 pm, while snacks will be available 3 to 5 pm.

Parents should register their children to participate.

Free Lunch, No Sign-Ups

The free food by the City of LA  will be served at over 100 LA city parks and recreation centers. Children do not need to be registered or live in the city, they just need to show up.

Both programs run June to August.
